HET WAS AAN…
It’s almost time
to say goodbye to my glamourous hotel life.
‘Hollywood’ engraved in a facade
is the first word I see when I look out of my window.
Glory and decay.
And, finally, the rain has come, after days of many false weather forecasts.
Drops falling on the pavement forming circles. My head is a sieve, filtering thoughts on ‘now’ and possible futures.
Where am I? Who am I? Who and what constitutes a ‘we’? Where do I/we wish to go?
We don’t have to go in the same direction, you see.
Artist, curator, performer, co-creator, painter, person, lover, friend.
Acting in my name.
A name which sounds more exotic than I can possibly be. A merchant’s daughter. I have been.
Inscribing my name in an environment, structure, ideology and by doing so finding ideas and ways to create space within it.
A moment and place that is certainly not ‘ideal’ has the power to set us in motion. To create an openness, a possibility to transform.
Who supports who and how to be many? Not at once, but in different moments in time.
Giving space and taking up space. Atoms crystallize and fall apart.
I wish for us all and for all of us to wish
for a later that is just beginning
all of the time
